Appraisals & inventories
For insurance, an inheritance or a resale, we value your gold and platinum jewellery and your precious and fine stones, mounted or loose. We see you in our Geneva office, or we come to you, in Switzerland or abroad.

How an appraisal works
- A first meeting to look at your pieces together, in our office or wherever they are
- Examination of each stone with gemmological instruments; metals are tested
- Laboratory certificate for important stones, if needed
- Valuation, based on the market we trade in every day
- Written appraisal report with the nature, weight, quality and value of each piece
A laboratory certificate tells you what a stone is: its species, any treatment and often its origin. It never gives a price. Because we buy and sell stones ourselves, we know what they are really worth today, and our estimates reflect it.
We write every report ourselves, so that insurers, notaries, heirs and buyers can rely on it.
Inventories of collections
For an inheritance, an insurance policy or a large collection, we photograph and describe every piece and give it an estimate. The result is a complete, illustrated inventory that insurers, notaries, trustees and heirs can rely on.
Laboratory certificates
For important stones we obtain a certificate from a leading international laboratory such as SSEF, Gübelin or GRS, and explain to you what it says, and what it does not say.
Family collections
Appraising complete family collections is a regular part of our work. We document and photograph every piece, give each one a value and, when the family wishes, sell some of the stones on its behalf, as we did for a Brazilian family with a collection of thirty pieces.
